Here’s how you elevate the humble Cauliflower into a 5-star dish… An easy grilled Cauliflower Steak!

The posh way of getting your veggies in! Though it might sound complicated because of the processes involved, it actually is pretty simple. Give it a try.

Ingredients

1 medium sized cauliflower
1.5 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables - cauliflower, red, yellow and green bell peppers, chopped mint, coriander and basil leaves
1.5 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper to season
1 cup chopped carrots
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tsp refined flour/maida
1 cup water
1 tbsp- seasoning of mixed dried herbs, paprika powder
2 tbsp yellow mustard paste/sauce
2 tsp soya sauce

Instructions

Cut the cauliflower into 2 thick wedges/blocks. Finely chop the rest of the cauliflower and keep it aside.
Grill the blocks lightly using a little oil on a pan while seasoning them with salt and pepper.
Now in a mixing bowl, take the finely chopped cauliflower, coloured peppers, mint, coriander and basil. Add in the grated cheese and again season with salt and pepper.
Preheat your oven for 10 mins at 220 degrees C.
Spread the veggie n cheese mix liberally on the slightly grilled cauliflower wedges.
Bake these in a preheated oven for 30 mins on the middle rack at 180 degrees C.
For the sauce - Heat the butter in a pan, add in the chopped carrots and saute for 3-4 mins.
Mix in tomato ketchup, flour and water.
Next add in mixed herbs, paprika powder, yellow mustard sauce, soya sauce, salt and pepper. Cook for 10 mins on a low flame.
Blend with a hand blender and your thick sauce is ready to go!
For serving - Spread a generous portion of the thick sauce on a deep plate. Place a baked cauliflower steak on it. Add a little grated cheese on top. Plate the second dish in the same way.
